5 years and 5 days ago today I very nearly lost my life to my own doing, feeling like life couldn't get any worse and wanting finished with it all I jumped Infront of a ford transit van, and very nearly lost my life. fractured skull, ruptured ear drum, broken cheek bone, and bleeding on the brain. I was hospitalised for weeks, one year later I was living in my own place on my own and have always had a stable job That set's me up for life.

It just goes to show when you think things can't get any worse And the days will never better them selves, things will ALWAYS! Move on and steady them it's self out.

If any one out there is feeling down or shitty rember there's always a better future ahead of the day you can't seem to see past hold it down and keep your chin up!

One love! Peace of the mind love of others around you and prosperity of your self!

I use this moment to Handle my greif even more so now then ever!

IV posted this as a reply to another thread, as IV noticed alot of people carrying alot of pain. but if I can give adleast one person today, a sense of some hope then it's worth it!

Soo there you go!

Thank you, for sharing your very personal story, sharing your pain and sharing your words of encouragement.

And for anyone who complains that this is a sex site, not a social site...you are so wrong.

Well said that man. When were in a dark place we just can't see any light at the end of the tunnel. But it's there patiently waiting for us to move towards it.

I'm very glad you got yourself out of your dark place, as so many don't.

Seeing that it can be done can inspire people and give them hope.

Indeed, and the driver is someone that played out heavy on my thoughts Patten, I'n the days after the incident. I did post on Facebook pages etc to try and get in contact with him. To speak in person with no luck, to let him know it was not his fault and make sure he was okay!

Life will throw shit at you. Sometimes even the most successful person who has made all the right choices can have everything unravel before their eyes. I was chatting with someone on here about this the other day. As people get older, and get more crap thrown at them, friends and family dying etc, they can become withdrawn or beaten down. And this is a point someone just made on another thread.

But the measure of who we are is in how much we bounce back from adversity, how much we refuse to lose hope, and how willing we are to energise ourselves, no matter what our age or situation, to make that change and start heading back towards the light. I am very much in that position right now and know several others out there are too. I'm proud to be swimming with the rest of you guys as we head up for fresh air

Well done op and thanks for starting such a brave and lovely thread

It's not a measure of anybody. To suggest that someone who struggles to or fails to fight back against adversity or mental health is somehow less of a person is wrong. Mental health is a complicated issue and the treatment of it is still somewhat of a lottery, what works for one may not work for someone else.

I've never been in a dark 'enough' place to want to take my own life, yes I've wanted to drive into a wall at high speed to stop feeling the way I do,but never thankfully that final step. I suppose when you are at that final step you can be oblivious to others.

I feel for the person who may be involved in your decision as well, but that's the past. Are you physically fit now?

Nice to read this dude

It’s hard for people to face their demons and sometimes people hit rock bottom,

I sometimes come across people in this position and I see the suffering it’s amazing to see when people return after facing danger and using the past to make stronger.

Well done again keep moving forward

I am fit as a fiddle can run 10k and everything haha

Only thing I'd say is mentally, I'm missing an integral part all humans have. Fear of death. Fear in general. When you don't tell any one and your not looking for attention toying with and putting the idea of suicide in other people's head and you just do it. You lose something that I'm aware of.

Someone/something was smiling gracefully down upon me that day and weeks through recovery for what ever reason it was not my time to go.

I'll continue to try and follow the path set out for me as long as it goes, till it ends and I reach my dead end.

I find my self in reckless situations and I face everything head on. especially down to my believes death to me is something to be excited about but I'll hang on and not end it myself for my daughter's sake she's the only thing holding me here right now.

Death is the easy route I'm going to ride it out and find my self this is the most challenging thing for me and I like a challange!
