Hiya all

How do you guys get around keeping your location near to where you live but hidden from people on your doorstep so to speak.

Ive had a few problems with local ladies and Ive started to receive messages from people I believe I know.

My postcode for fab isn’t where I stay, but close enough. And my location is an address that some folk assume is real...

Near Marlborough

I don’t live In Marlborough. I don’t have my location services on. I don’t have “giveaway” pictures. I block anyone I think is too close or I think I may know if they show up in my updates.

It’s quite easy to be as anonymous as you like I think

I use a different postcode location and vary it every so often. I don’t want to meet people to close to me anyway so this approach works for me. Since doing this I haven’t been messaged by anyone I know, thank gawd :D

Every so often I completely change it and “move” to another part of the country, sometimes ties in with work, other times it’s random..!

you can't if you put location on it detects whoever is near to you with location on and visa versa unless you block them

It's not funny when your receiving messages from men telling you that local women have the most awful status updates about me. Ive never even met anyone from Plymouth and I dont even know any of these women.

I change the postcode so that I can see local updates in places I'm going to be.

The first half of my postcode is pretty generic as it is, so I think I'm reasonably safe.

Mind you, if someone messaged me my car registration, I'd be fucking freaking...hope all settles down, OP

You can change your location to just Devon instead of Plymouth. And you can turn the “who’s near” off I think. I think mines off x

Who's near is off.. I'm now in the South Hams so I'll see how I go now with the changes Ive made.

Who's near is off.. I'm now in the South Hams so I'll see how I go now with the changes Ive made.

Also you can leave the postcode bit blank. You don’t have to put a postcode in x

I hate that, even now after 8 years here, that's the thing that annoys me. It's like they get a kick out of it, always pictureless profiles and will never say who they are yet weNte supposed to be ok with them knowing who we are. Makes me uncomfortable.

trouble is i think spider wants somebody local to Plymouth I've seen her say this a few times and with that comes a problem eg the recognition, some women are very recognisable here and don't hide their face or distinguishing tatts or very outrageous hairstyles and colours I've recognised a couple of women from here who live local to me , most people are respectful I think.
