Would you pick the UK or Europe?

Suppose it was decided that a wall was to be built between the UK and Europe and the two were to be forever more isolated from each other. No boats, planes, tunnels, etc. And you had the chance to pick which... to stay here or move there... which would you pick?

Would it be an easy choice or difficult?

The right place

We don’t really need a wall, we have a moat! (Unless you’re in NI)

I’d stay. I’d miss the Alps but I would have to go skiing in America.

As much as I love where I live, my parents have lived in a beautiful part of Spain for the past 15 plus years and I dropped one of my brothers to the airport this morning for his move out there too.

So for me, Spain. Bring on the sunny days and no (well very little) rain.

I'm a sun worshipper, I'd be happy with 365 days of sun on a nice beach or by a pool. Our last winter went on way way too long, looked like golem by the end..... now just a bit of a browner golem.

Id be off to Europe- more choice of places to live, better weather, excellent selection of women, nude beaches, decent lager

Given the choice though, i'd build the wall round London and Brussels and keep the rest of us part of Europe

With family and friends accessibility, I'd choose mainland Europe - as much as I've loved every minute of the years I've lived in the UK. I'd like the variety of climate and cultures via European countries.

There is much to love about the UK, and having lived in many parts of the world and the UK my favourite part is west country, where I was born and returned to in my 30's, then again in my 40's and now I aim to stay.

But if it was walled in it would feel like a prison, so I would pick mainland Europe.

I would be forced to pack up all my relatives and go to europe. Ten days after the wall was completed all the shops would be empty of food. Twenty days after there would be civil war. After 30 days cannibalism would start.

Build a wall? You know we’re an island... surrounded by sea. And people don’t swim here. They catch planes

It’d be very easy to make the choice .

I’d stay here .

Been to Spain once , didn’t like it .

Been to the Canaries a few times , it was ok but nothing special .

And Switzerland once which was ok , but nothing beats here .

It's funny that people put like 'ill pick UK, I've been to Spain once and didn't like it'. It's not like Europe is made up of lots of countries and has very diverse people, weather and landscapes or anything. It's saying you don't like England because you've been to Luton

Since it seems to be my comment you’re using , let me be a little more specific .

My experiences of anywhere other than here are less than exhilarating . I have a beautiful home in a wonderful part of the country with all my family close by . I have wonderful friends and can enjoy everything I desire where I am . So I choose here , the U.K.

This is based on my experience , and perhaps it’s because I don’t live in Luton . I’ve never been to Luton actually , but I’m guessing it’s not great .
