People do not have an obligation to reply to any messages they receive on fab.

Non-responses and timewasters are two different things. Suppose it's up to the individual if they want to reply back or not. What difference does it make either way. Both look like a no thanks to me!

Well its a common thread because it's tough sending well thought out messages and getting no reply the FAQs don't get read because let's face it whoever reads the terms and conditions nobody and it is difficult for guys to understand how many messages women and couples get and how impossible it is sometimes just answering the messages you want to answer

you really should read what admin flash up when you try contacting people again its rather rude to ignore it

STOP. THINK.

You've already sent XXXXX a message and not received a reply back.

If someone doesn't reply, it's not rude, it just means they're not interested. You're better off messaging people who you haven't contacted already. PS. Because some women and couples get hundreds of mails each day, we take a dim view of anyone harassing those who don't reply.

Have you considered it may be yourself that is the timewaster ?

Choose who you message wisely, read profiles, more importantly read between the lines of profiles, don't expect a response

Writing a personal well constructed message is, by no means, an easy task. Make them count. Still, don't expect a response.

There is, after all, a fine line to be danced between expectation and entitlement.

Having returned to the site in search of some fun I have been inundated with messages which are either less than 5 words long or from guys who have clearly not read my profile. Should I be expected to waste my time responding to be 'polite'? I understand how demoralising it must be for guys not to get a reply but do yourselves a favour and make a little effort. I personally can't believe how difficult it is to get a reliable meet on here.

Sooooo... Does anyone sit there refreshing the screen, just waiting for that damned yellow background to disappear from the sent message and indicating that the recipient has cast their gaze over it's cut-and-paste content and obligatory attached snapshot of the senders genitalia? That would be timewasting on the part of the sender. And rude to expect anything. Entitlement is not becoming.

The trouble is, couples and single ladies do not have to really chase the meet..Most will come to us...We do reply to every message sent to us ..We get an avarage of around 10 per day..so it not really a problem for us..We have our filters set to cut them down....I do feel sorry for the guys on here, especially the ones that put the work in , yet still got no reply..I'm not a fan of them being pointed to the no reply rule..and it's not a rule because if it was, you would get in trouble for breaking it..It's more of an outline on how it works..It just feels a kopout to me to those that could not be bothered to reply, because they have looked at the pics and profiles and thought not for me...Yes..the how are you or hello or fancy a fuck messages may not deserve a reply..but those that put some effort in, surly do..even if it's a no thanks..

What you have to factor in as well as the sheer time it would take to reply to all messages in some instances, is the number of abusive replies that people get when they send a simple "no thanks" and the fact that by replying it opens up a message route that supercedes any filters that may be set at a later date.

Yes sending a no thanks and then blocking is an option to prevent the abuse, but you then get the threads whining about why someone has been blocked so you can't win whatever you do.

The sooner that guys accept that no reply means not interested the better it is for all - it's not rude, it's not abusive, it doesn't mean anything, it's just the way it is and what works for the site.

Expect to chat with many more people than you'll ever meet, as both sides evaluate compatibility. That is not time-wasting! It's the only intelligent way to get appropriate people to meet with you!!

Site rules - no reply = no interest.

It's ridiculous to think of waiting for someone to confirm or reject, without also making contact with other potential partners. You'll still only end up with those who are compatible and it needs the same investment of time.

You have lost nothing by not meeting the wrong people. If you tried fab and it wasn't for you, you know more than if you hadn't. Most people won't fancy most people, so it's like that with your chat's with others - they don't fancy you, you all move on.

i think the site rules is clear about getting replies.

women and couples sometimes get so many messages it is impossible to reply to all if any.

if your mail is deleted without reply you should take it as a no and move on.

I come here for enjoyment. I therefore want to spend my time in a way that's enjoyable for me - using the forums and talking to people who are interesting to me.

If I replied to every hey wwu2 message or the married 60 year olds who live 300 miles away with beards down to their knees and piercings in every body part, I'd not be able to give the time to the people who are of interest. Where someone has taken the time to send a good message, fits my preferences and just isn't my type, I'll reply but the rest get deleted.

I’ve seen first hand how many messages some single females get in a day. Replying to each would be a full time job.
