I forgot everyone’s favourite guilty pleasure - Bat Out of Hell. Heck, the intro alone is better than most songs.

Dominion / Mother Russia - Sisters of Mercy

Although, if you use vinyl, you could accidentally play side B and get the 9 minute version of This Corrosion- possibly one of the best late night loud driving tunes ever

Calling those two up right now. How have I not thought of them in decades?

I’m the same. But every once in a while I listen to them both and am still blown away by how epic they sound!

For epic, I think Mr Hussey can give his former band mate a run for his money with Tower of Strength

Yup - that and the long version of their cover of Like A Hurricane."

I get your point, but Elizabeth my dear is under a minute, Don’t Stop is Waterfall backwards with some random vocals on top. Considering they had b sides as good as ‘Mersey Paradise, ‘Standing here’, ‘Going down’ and ‘Where angels play’ on the singles, was a strange choice.

That was released as a single a year before the album come out, so would have been a bit cheeky putting it on the album.

I’ve never heard of a band called EVER, so they can’t be that overrated.

But you’re wrong, listening to ‘Fools Gold’ for the first time blew me away. It was like discovering a new colour, didn’t know where the sound come from. Now, I can see the influences, but at the time, fuck it was awesome. Still sounds fresh.

I’m be the first to admit he can’t sing for shit live. I saw them at Spike Island in 1990 and his voice was ok. I couldn’t bring myself to see them live after they reformed, I’m not interested in bands doing the nostalgia tours, especially not them, I thought they were better than that.
