Wisdom tooth removal

Ah ha! Or rather Aaaargh! It looks like I may have to partake, and I'm seeing conflicting stuff re: costing. If you pay for dental care as I do, I understand if it's done in an NHS hospital, you still might not have to pay. Is this right?

If it’s done in the dental department you will, but if it’s done as a day patient then I don’t think you would x

I've had all of mine removed some time ago. 2 were removed by my usual dentist and I had to pay. The other 2 were done by a hospital referral and I didn't pay for that.

I think you are in the same area as me OP. The hospital referral wasn't actually done at the hospital - I went to a clinic on the ropewalk close to the city centre.

Many months ago I broke a bit of tooth of. I went to the school of dentistry. And they done a lot of work for free.and they going to take one of mine out to next appointment

I had all four of mine whipped out in hospital ,it was freeeeeee

I had impacted wisdom teeth had to have my jaw unhinged to have them out .The broken jaw was worse than the teeth out .

I had all four taken out in one go, many years ago. I was lucky enough to have it done privately as had health care cover at work. Even though it's dentistry, wisdom teeth removal were covered under the policy. It's worth checking if you have that option, so much quicker too.

Had it done on Tuesday. Didn't cost me owt and didn't feel anything until the dope wore off 4 hours later. Then very raw. But doable. Ah hah.
