No, I don’t want to set up my own site. The owners of Fab do, so perhaps they ought to keep up with developments.

The problem is that every other website in the world, including vanilla sites, has advanced well beyond this 1990’s software,

One of the very best sites ( a vanilla motorcycle site) I visit is free and has all the kinds of stuff that I’m suggesting as standard.

The owners of fab are asleep at the wheel.

You do know coming on this site is optional don’t you? If you don’t like it then don’t use it, simple. If you could post videos then there would be endless threads from women complaining of all the walking videos they are inundated with. It works just fine as it is, it’s easy to navigate and use.

I like the text focussed mom and pop feel to the site. If I want sex vids I’ll go elsewhere. It’s relatively quick to load, I’m on IOS12 and no issues.

For me the fishy dating site and similar with their highly compromised, semi Tinder functionality are MUCH worse to use on a phone.

Actually I like the fact it doesn’t change, every app is updated every few months and it’s ususlly worse for it, it’s usually done for the sake of it. So I’m happy with the way it is.

While I can't claim to pay good money, I would happily pay more if we got away from what is hopelessly outdated hosting platform, with the ability to edit, multi quote and even tag people. All of which most forums have been able to do for almost a decade

And maybe even the luxury of posts since last visit, new posts and so on search buttons or even a tapa talk link.

The Owners/Admin do this for fun - it's not a multi-million dollar operation.

They also have a life outside of Fab - like everyone else, that's why they use trusted members to do the Moderation of the functions here - not a paid staff.

Site Supporter donations are voluntary and not being a supporter in no way limits the use of the site by the majority of members.

Think folks need to re-assess their expectations.

There are lots of things wrong with fab and need changing but none of what you suggest OP would change it for the better.

We use Fab to meet people and have fun, don't need a website with fancy features to do that. If videos were ever introduced we would definitely leave if the facility to turn them off was not included.

Going by that statistic I'd firstly multiply up by a random 10

As that figure is seemingly consistent and I'm sure not every member is on 24 7 thus the 33 k on now are likely to be mostly different to they 33 k at 4 27 this afternoon and different as the UK sleeps and other countries awaken x

However let's say fab has 100 000 paying members across the world that's a million income

Now if they have costs of a million , ouch. However if all they pay for is web design and maintaining

This site works for me. One improvement I’d like to see is on the search meets section, people placing meets can add filters such as age or who they’re looking for. Eg I might say looking for couples but the results page will include loads of couples not looking for guys.

Agree with this, a county search would be a useful feature, as would a message filter for distance. I'm perfectly happy with the site as it is. I find it very easy to use. As for videos, a big no from me, I don't want wanking vids in my inbox from random people thanks.
