"...that so many people who become single after being in a long term relationship say they don't know if they can be bothered to go through that shit again?" No I said it first time and was engaged inside 6 months. It's a natural feeling.

"I'm not sure what you mean op. Unnerve couples how exactly?" I guess it infers the lovely relationships they tried to maintain... the moment they left it, many admit it was a chore. I wonder if that doesn't imply a certain degree of wilful self illusionment on behalf of couples that their relationship is amazing. Which then dissipates in a flash when they leave. Just a curious thought. Nothing more

"...that so many people who become single after being in a long term relationship say they don't know if they can be bothered to go through that shit again?" Where do you meet all these people? Do you have facts and figures? Or is this all anecdotal?

Just a curious thought. Nothing more " Using the words you've chosen, relationships are a chore. You might want to sit down before reading this, but in life generally, worthwhile things require you to put effort in, in order to get something good out. I know that farts in the face of every Disney movie where two strangers lock eyes and live happily ever after. But disputes over 2 or 5 year mortgage products don't make gripping cinema.

"Sometimes you learn valuable lessons about yourself and relationships from your previous long term relationship. Its all training for when you find the one." Although statistically speaking, second and third marriages are less successful than first ones so more people stay in the same patterns of behaviour.

"...that so many people who become single after being in a long term relationship say they don't know if they can be bothered to go through that shit again?" Its true a lot of people say Oooo never again when they come out of a relationship I get that have had friends say it and said it myself. However as so may do go into second third or even more relationships it may be the initial post thought. People in general need companionship this is why so many stop in bad relationships and others form new ones. So I don't think people worry any more about people not forming new relationships any more than people worry about ending one.

"...that so many people who become single after being in a long term relationship say they don't know if they can be bothered to go through that shit again?" Relationships do take work though Neither of us is one of those entitled people who thinks life owes us something (eg an effortless relationship). Just cause it takes work doesn't mean we're not happy. Those looking back on a failed relationship have a different viewpoint than when they were in a successful one, obviously.

Your answer was good. But you didn't flaunt your legs in front of me. So it was an automatic disqualification I'm afraid
