As the male half of a couple I totally get that I'm only going to get a tiny amount of attention my wife does, but I have always had it in my mind that we would eventually meet a handful of people who would turn out to be friends outside of the bedroom too, is it son optimistic of me too hope for that? Or do people only really want to fuck my wife? Have other guys made proper friendships on here with other guys who they can still swing with, or is the swinging world just to far removed from everyday life to be that lucky?

Some people make friends who they see often. Some prefer one offs.

Some couples are only interested in the woman.

We have a couples profile as well as individual ones, what I would ideally like is to have swinging friends who you could also in for a beer and a chat with, rather than just feeling like they are superficial friendships of convenience and having no substance other than just wanting to be with my wife.

I’m going to be brutally honest here .

We have been in the scene for eight years now , and have made no friends whatsoever in that time . We’ve met people we thought were friends , but recently we’ve realised they were just superficial , and although we place no blame on them or ourselves for the stark realisation that swinging is such a shallow hobby , it’s a fact .

There are plenty of people who think they have made lifelong friends in the lifestyle , and good luck to them . But the fact is that there needs to be a certain mentality to enjoy the lifestyle , and that doesn’t lend itself to making too many , if any , real friends from swinging .

Your beard is awesome! I think the idea of friends you occasionally swing with sounds perfect! We ent really have any friends. Basically we need an adult friend finder that's for making actual friends

Hubby and I have a couples profile and in the last few years have made some really good friends who we socialise with even when swinging isn't on the cards, it's lovely to have friends who just "get it" and you don't have to hide your other life from or watch what you say when you've had a few to drink

Our friends introduced us to the scene after a weekend away together, they've taken us to clubs,answered our questions and given loads of advice. But we haven't played together and don't think we will...I feel it would be weird and cross a line.

But on the opposite side I know our friends have made friends and do vanilla socials etc so I'd like to think that not all meets will be like a teenage one night stand and that we also make friendships too....

To be honest, when we meet we always have sex (actually no, I can think of one instance where I met a guy and we hung out), but we also talk regularly about all sorts of other things, and our relationship isn't just sexual (even if it is primarily so). It is possible, although I think it's rare.

We have made some great friends from the scene and have hung out even when we have not been swinging; taken a break from swinging. I think you can make friends in the scene as long as you meet the right people
