Yes it happened, use the forum search function for more info. Try to keep in mind that the victim had friends who use to forum so the less said the better in my opinion.

And is a reason why all genders need to respect each other and understand why they each have safety fears, in my case I only meet single men, but the amount of men that think they can just come straight round to mine on a first meet, and don't understand when I say no? This is why! I'm not saying a second meet will be any safer but at least you've had a chance to gauge a person, not fool proof but gut instinct is worth it's weight in gold

There is some safety advice I can give.

Get a face shot.

Get an email, phone number, kik, WhatsApp. And as much contact information.

Try Facebook or linkd in IF you think you have the real name, or their real phone number.

Even if it’s a hotel, his / her place or your place meet, first meet in a public place.

Screen shot the picture, and messages containing the information and if you have found their Facebook, linkd in, phone number etc.

You can send the screen shots to a trusted freind and let them know you are meeting.

If possible text your freind let them know if you feel safe or not.

They can then ring that ‘emergency thing’ to give you an excuse to leave.

Never be afraid to just walk away.

(Or run)

If you don’t have a friend you trust like that you can email the information to any freind, but put a delay on it sending.

Then if all is ok. Delete the message.

If the worst happens someone knows who you met.

You can also tell an attacker this.

There are a lot of self defence awareness and physical intervention techniques, but the certainty of arrest after the fact is the best deterrent you can hope for.

Also if they won’t facetime, kik or WhatsApp video chat before a meet, think very carefully what they are hiding.

If you haven’t been sent a face picture, remember you can screen shot a live video or Snapchat.

Also set boundaries and ground rules before a meeting. A good warning is some one suggesting things that overstep your boundaries.

Good advice, didnt know you could put a delay on an email so I have learnt something!
