Manchester and that's all you need to know

A few days ago I was texting back and forth with someone and I decided to call them as something in my mind was telling me somthing wasn't right.

The person told me they were single and lived alone and would like to get to know me better and the minute I call they refused to answer the phone.

Has anyone else experienced this? His excuse was I caught him of guard hence him refusing to answer the call.

I probably wouldnt have answered either.

I wouldnt jump to the conclusion just yet that hs hiding anything.

Some people are just uncomfortable when it comes to phone talks

This for me too. Perhaps have the decency to ask them if it's convenient time for you to call them too before doing so. There could be a million and one reasons why they couldn't/wouldn't talk to you.

I would prefer to meet socially ,a phone call can be awkward with a stranger .At least with a face to face you can read body language ect.

Should of teased him out with voice notes then hit him with the phone call about 10pm when the wife's going to bed

I regularly don't answer the phone, even with friends. I prefer to text and email.

Yesterday a friend of mine actually sent me a text (after I'd ignored her call) and said - "phone me, it's important!"

I'm happy chatting on the phone in general but prefer texting those of here. Not sure how I'd feel if a fabber called me without agreement.

That said - never ignore that gut feeling

Hiding in the shadows

I find talking to people I don't know on the phone, quiet hard.

If someone I was texting from here was yo suddenly call me without warning, I wouldn't answer either.

Consider the possibility also of being with one of my children, a friend or being somewhere totaly impractical for a first time chat.

If someone wants yo talk yo me, it has to be when I say it's OK.

Doesn't mean I'm hiding anything.

I hate talking on the phone too - for some reason, I just don't understand what the caller is saying, no matter how clear their speech is. I dislike phones in general, they always seem to ring when I don't want to talk to anyone or I'm busy, and the ringing just sounds like "TALK TO ME NOW, TALK TO ME NOW". Maybe I need a new ringtone

I'm confused....He asked to hear my voice and when I called he never answered, I didn't realise he meant schedule an appointment for the following week.

He clearly said "Can I hear your voice" maybe I misunderstood oh well such is life.

I wouldn't answer a call from someone I hadn't met without arranging a time to talk.

If they ring when I'm in a public place or with my family I'm not going to have a conversation with them in earshot of others, or have to disappear into my room to talk.

But he's "Fab single and living alone".

I saw a guy for a while who was genuinely single but he used a separate phone for swinging and when he had a real girlfriend he used to take the sim out of it and hide it in the loft to stop him being tempted.

It takes all kinds.

There are very few people I answer the phone to and even they get don't get answered sometimes. I'm normally doing 3 or 4 things at once, so talking on the phone wouldn't help. A text you can reply when you get a few seconds and then go back to doing other stuff.

There's only ever one side to a story on these threads .. though the story changed..like some have said they'd not answer as well.. and any reason a lady gives for not doing or won't do something I can pretty much say the same reason will apply to other genders as well

Single guy had posted a similar tale that he'd rung a lady unannounced there'd be a different reaction from some on this thread.

Single lady posts the same tale ..the guys obviously got lots to hide.. cheating already got his rocks off .. amazing how some folk think having a vagina makes you an angel and having a penis the devil.

Whatever the reason, he chose not to answer. He's given you a reason why he didn't .. you either believe him or not.

This for me too!

I’m with my kids a lot of the time - or at work! In either case there’s no way on earth I’m going to pick up a call from someone from fab unless they’re one of my genuine friends - not just a potential shag!

It’s only manners to arrange a mutually convenient time to chat!
