Better to pay tax on it than not earn it...;-)

Not working this New Year...

Well if you are on the 40p tax rate then that goes hand in hand I am afraid...

swindon

On call.

Now there's a dilemma... do I risk not getting called out and have a drink or 3? Would be in big trouble if I got caught, mind you.

I'm not bothered about working the holiday season either, now the kids are grown up, its not the same so have ticked to work Christmas day and will pick up any other shifts going that I can. The only day I definitely won't be working is Boxing Day as its my birthday and am off out with my daughter. This year will be the first one I will be off New Years Eve as I'm out with a sexy friend to a party hopefully

I am working throughout the festive period.

I am at home, but on call, on Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years Day and will be in the office all the other days.

I haven't ever had a Christmas off in my 20 years of working full-time - simple fact is, when people are on holiday, we are busy !

Besides, Christmas should be for the enjoyment of kids and as I don't have any, I would sooner allow colleagues with kids to take advantage of the Bank Holidays.

(plus they use holidays up, meaning i get to go away when they have none left )

oh - and i get no extra £ for being on call - it goes with the territory in this job.

If anyone in the Rochdale area or surrounds isn't going out and wants some company, get in touch.
