"Sitting on my sofa starring in the garden thinking why am I brown? " Perceived colour is actually due to specific energies or frequencies of light waves which fall into the visible spectrum between red and violet. We see objects as a specific colour because of the so called, ‘colour effect’. For example when a red object is hit with light rays the object reflects only red light and absorbs all other light.
