As a result of very upsetting comments in an other thread, I feel alone in the love for sci-fi films. Any other ladies that enjoy them? Is so which one is your favourite?

I have to say Star Wars but it has to closely be followed by Firefly.

And for those who argue that Firefly isn’t a franchise simply need to do their homework!

We know a female sci-fi fan on the scene. I can quite happily chit chat all things sci-fi. Sadly, Mrs North South has virtually no interest.

Imagine my surprise when sat in the lounge at Xtasia talk got into Iain M Banks’ Culture Series

And with Aliens, it has to be the director’s cut.

Perhaps my fave sci-fi film is Event Horizon.

Sci Fi is my genre, Mrs W likes the avengers and particularly Deadpool and Thor....

I have quite a Star Trek collection including a working communicator! Yes I’m a geek.

Love Star Wars too and the Marvel Universe.

"I liked The Martian. That was sci-fi "

Honestly one of my favourite movies.

It also has about 8 MCU actors in it.

Also, asking the question of if somebody likes "The Last Jedi"... It's like a delinquent child. Sure we "love" it because it's starwars but serious nobody likes it.

Love sci-fi but I wouldn’t be accepted by most sci-fi fans I know as one as I’m not die hard, I simply enjoy them (and occasionally quote). I do refer to Star Wars 4-6 as proper Star Wars however, and prefer the originals to the 1990s remastered.

Complete Sci Fi geek and proud of it.

Grew up on Star Trek, Doctor Who, Blakes Seven, Star Wars.

All my phone tones are Dr Who related

I used to rush home from Girl Guides to watch Blakes Seven

Star Wars I’ve always enjoyed.

Alien : never forget that Jon Hurt scene!

"

Or the "oh no, not again" scene from spaceballs...

I love sci fi

Surely technically you can call the terminator series sci fi can't you, even though it's getting more like sci future every day.

I love all the alien movies, even AVP.

District 9 never fails to make me cry.

I thought pitch black was amazing for its limited budget, and also think very highly of event horizon.

Best sci fi of recent years has to be Denis Villeneuve's Arrival. Can't wait to see his interpretation of Dune. Great director.

Good on you. I think a lot of women are a bit afraid to admit they like sci-fi. Personally for me I love sci-fi and shows me a vision of possible futures.

2001, 2010.

Metropolis.

Bladerunner and Bladerunner 2049, sequal was a lot better than I was expecting!

Elysium.

Automota,very underrated.

Loopers.

12 monkeys.

Akira. Although that maybe more cyberpunk.

Alien, aliens.

John Carter.

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.

Inception.

Logans Run.

Gravity.

Dark City.

Videodrome.

Dredd.

Gattaca.

They Live.

Serenity.

I could list movies I love for hours. Lots more I can think of.

Love the original Star Trek films, not keen on the new ones if I’m honest, I mean Chris Pine is alright lol.

Love stargate (sg1 the most), firefly, original Star Wars films, all of it really, I didn’t embrace my inner geek until I was about 30 though, I don’t really know what grabs me but I love geeky films over any ‘normal’ tv shows and films.

I love sci fi.

Loved star wars, star trek (particularly voyager and ds9. Not always popular choices)

Loved Alien etc.

Watched Martian several times as I have a massive crush on Matt Damon.

The list goes on and on. Even includes Dr Who.

Point Nemo, Cumbria

Total sci-fi fan here.

TNG, DS9, SG1, SGA, BSG, Farscape, 5th Element, HHGG... the whole lot really.

I used to read lots of Isaac Azimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip K Dick, Ursula Le Guin, George Zebrownski, Frederick Pholl, etc and I still love reading Iain M Banks.

Mind you, I watched '5th Passenger' the other day and I've got to say it was the very worst load of SHITE I've ever seen... I mean really fucking abysmal.

I love both voyager and then I watched ds9 after putting it off for years thinking it was going to be really boring, I watched the whole box set over a month or so, it’s one of my favourites now.
