Age preference

So I was having a chat with a recently divorced mate and a couple and we got onto the subject of online dating and we were talking about age preferences and how 50ish men always seem to put mid 20s to mid 40s. The consensus seemed to be that it wasn’t because they were dirty old men(!?!) but because most were divorcees and the last time they could remember being single and available would have been in their mid 20s and so that was their only reference point on how to behave. Any thoughts?

Or they subscribe to that nonsense about the perfect age for a female companion being half the guys age plus seven years.

I think it was more about their last experience of dating being at those younger ages and their inability to imagine a more grown up version of dating

Personally I think it wrong that a, site for primarily fun and one off hook ups encourages age choice, I don't see the relevance. If you fancy somebody then you do.

I have an age range that varies completely dependent on the person. I think the age selection should be removed.

Imagine if there was a dress size option, there would be uproar that people were being discrimaited and excluded because of their size. But that is normally a choice or sometimes, but not nearly as often as claimed, a medical condition.

Growing older isn't

I know a black guy in his 60s at one of our regular clubs that not only looks 40s at most but that would put most 30 year olds to shame in many departments.

We try not to make any decisions on age, just respond to the message content and the look of people in their pictures.
