"In terms of franchise rogue one means star wars has at least two great films in its legacy (the other definite being empire). Blade runner has two masterpieces. So that probably pips the lot. Alien has 2 great films too. In a slightly more cheesy way so does terminator. I don't think any of the star trek, marvel, dc, x men films have been great. Although I did enjoy both the ant man films and you can't really deny batman begins was awesome. Monsters 2 was better than 1 imo. For me, the best sci-fi films have been one offs. Interstellar. Oblivion. Edge of Tomorrow. Starship Troopers. Total Recall " Edge of tomorrow 2 confirmed

If you like Blomkamps work I'd recommend watching some of the shorts on his "Oats Studios" channel on YouTube if you haven't already, a lot of them are just concepts or pilots for future projects, but most of them are better than full feature length films! Sigourney Weaver has a lead role in one of them too https://www.youtube.com/user/OatsStudios

" Edge of tomorrow 2 confirmed " I know this is probably a hoax, but I really do hope not. I like that movie, and I don't want to dislike it because of a crappy sequel in an attempt to make money. Speaking of which, did anybody actually really enjoy "The Last Jedi?"

But he is relegated to a stupid creature who flails around in the background every now and then. Plus, they had the genius of dubbing over his voice with garbled grunts and then putting subtitles underneath. Which made it much more in keeping with the star wars universe whilst simultaneously enabling them to write better dialog for him Me-sa like-sa it much-sa more-sa

Not ready for snuggly seductive bed talk in a jar jar voice then? Or should we take this discussion over to the wrestling thread?

"Logan's Run " Now there's a movie that NEEDS to be remade. A society of 20 something bimbos enjoying mindless leisure pursuits without any knowledge of books and learning until they reach 30 when they're bumped off. Very topical still imo There was a movie recently called The Giver which touched a similar nerve

Bryan singer (X-Men) was attached to direct it before, just hasn't gotten of the ground yet.
