Y do Most places have fish and chips on a friday ?

I no its trudishoun to have fish and chips on a friday but wear and wen did it start ?

Christians ate fish on Fridays to abstain from meat. It's because Friday was the day Jesus was crucified I think.

I think it's something to do with religion. Abstaining from red meat in respect of Jesus or something like that.

It stems from the time the country was largely Chatolic. Eating fish on a Friday was the norm! Potato had yet to arrive in this country so chips came later!

Yeah was gonna say fish on a Friday was a Catholic thing, for most just good Friday though but I guess it stems from that.

Also, it is fryday after all.
