Given lots of people have ‘you do not have permission to use my profile for academic research’ in their profile, I thought I’d highlight some great academic research on threesomes.

Research by Ryan Scoats at Birmingham City University got some publicity last year (google: world’s first threesomes PhD) but I’ve now read a couple of his full research papers (google: Ryan Scoats: Threesome Research).

It’s a really insightful and sympathetic view of what many of us get up to. In particular, his paper on how men and women feel about being excluded in threesomes, and how they manage that through effective communication, is excellent.

I know we’re all wary of being researched but it’s nice to see this kind of thoughtful work that doesn’t simply see these kind of sexual practices as weird.

The world needs more quality research on sex I reckon!

As in: deciding rules beforehand. Deciding what to ‘keep back’ (no kissing, no cumming in other partner).

I should add, for academic research, the papers are actually quite horny to read. It doesn’t hide the detail!

He's still looking for people to help with research if you go to his offical website.

Yes, and quite often it's terrifying what conclusions you can deduce!
