why do people lie about there age

Confused why people lie I mean do they actually think they can get away with it when there picture looks 10 years older pmsl

Not everyone is the age they appear.

Some people also deliberately use dated photos.

Some people lie to get around message filters.

I’ve wondered this myself and even asked some who had admitted it’s to bypass some people filters.

It’s just deceptive. What’s funny though is a lot of the guys who I have come across who have lied about their age on their profile and admitted later on, don’t look their fake age one bit, so it’s obvious!

loads do it, it’s never gonna stop, we are our actual ages as stated, we guess that means people probably think we are in our 60’s lol

Not quite the same thing, but I sometimes see profiles with "it says I'm age X but I'm actually age Y". I'm not sure how you mess up your age? Unless it's deliberate to get around the filters, but then, why be upfront about it?

It happens with every description on here like the ones who think they have a athletic build and then you see their photos, unfortunately there’s a lot different ways to be fake and people will always use them to try to sound better than they actually are

That’s very true.

I’ve also had the “I put the wrong year in” line, and when I tell them that Fab allows you to change your age once which means they have changed it before they suddenly start with more excuses or get defensive.

With me, I think because I’m looking for older men some of these guys feel okay to admit to their real age even though I always ask those liars “If you’re X age, why does your profile say Y age” and then they say it’s to bypass filters or because some women’s filters tend at 40, 50, 55 and so on.

I won’t knowingly meet with anyone lying about their age, because it usually means they are lying about other things too.

Makes me laugh most when the profile stats say one thing and then immediately in the written description the person says another. For the craic, I usually look at their oldest photo, if it's, say, six years old, and that is the discrepancy in the numbers, it's likely the person hasn't even read their own profile in that time. And they think folk will reply.....

Most people do it to get around filters

Some do because they think they can get away with it

Usually to get past filters, or they're deluded and think they look younger.

I've encountered both men and women who've lied about their age.
