He’s going to be very difficult to replace.

According to the TMS statto it’s the third time in his test career that Cook scored a 5.

I think it’s because the ball is still live until the ball is returned to the wicket keeper when it’s classed as dead. Therefore as the ball is live the extra runs are credited to the batsman.

Exactly. If the batsman hits the ball, they get the credit for all runs scored off that delivery.
