If I fix a pothole on a minor road, with sturdy tarmac, and leave it safe to drive on, is it wrong?.

I was getting tired of garage visits to fix the car. Council move at a glacier pace to fix potholes so, why not.

Most likely outcome is you will be held liable for the road area and will get a bill from the council to repair your repair, so don't tell anyone

People were filling them with sand bags in the lanes here after loads of cars got ruined. Only now just starting to fix them.

Leeds city council are instead of fixing the problem pot hole .. dressing with tar and chippings.. come the winter it'll be. Twice as bad as before.
