I’ve always been a gin drinker. Maybe that’s why I like my gin to taste of gin. I’m not into these flavoured things. I’m a straight up Hendricks girl or London no 1

I have an embarrassing number of gins now. Always liked gin and because nobody ever knows what to buy me as a present, guess what I get... Not that I'm complaining!

I like straight gin - Tarquins, Gin Mare are fave easily found ones. Flavoured- Malfy Rosa has pink grapefruit in it and is lovely as a long drink (Sainsbury's stock it). Or Whitley Neil raspberry neat on ice...

Sod it. It's gin o'clock and bugger the roast!

"Portobello Road London Gin No.171". I'd call it an 'everyday', mild but still unique in flavour.

Fuck me! Ordering a G&T used to be so simple. Gordons and Schweppes Ice and slice.

Now it takes ages. What gin? And most bars don’t have Gordon’s, what tonic? Fever tree? Which one? No I’m not pissed off that they made billions out of it.

Ice - fresh or frozen.

And of course the whole process is delayed while a bunch of ladies that actually made it to the bar have ordered fucking slow to make cocktails.

Off to make my own now which always tastes better.

Cheers!

I think the problem is that you're not drinking them fast enough.

Know a nice little shop in Fowey that gets samples of the next flavour...

We love sloe gin and Jude loves flavoured gins but recently we've become semi-addicted to gin liquors, most particularly from the Edinburgh Gin Distillery. Check out their Plum and Vanilla flavour ... if you're not careful, you will finish a bottle in one sitting!

Anything that Italian Malfy do is fantastic. Their new one, Rosa, is just superb. The pink grapefruit just hits your mouth and wants you wanting more! Such a perfect summery drink!

Strane from Sweden do some fantastic "uncut" versions, but you need to be sat down to drink them!

As with everything Gin, make sure that the tonic is the best you can get.

Fevertree do a small gift set that has four different gins with their recommended tonics. It costs about a tenner and is worth exploring if you want to try different gins without paying out for a full bottle.

Someone brought me the set a couple of years ago and it had Sipsmith, Bombay Sapphire, Martin Miller and London Gin. Each of the tonics compliments the individual gin and it’s a great introduction to the world of gin.
