So said Brucie to the (very un-PCly named) “Dolly Dealers” on ‘Play Your Cards Right’

At the time I don’t think too many people even batted an eye-lid at it but I’m sure many would be offended today.

What other tv programmes did you watch in years gone by that would never get commissioned now, or were simply just relics of their time?

What programmes from today will we look back on in years to come and think “really? That was acceptable back in 2018!?”

The right place

Virtually all comedy and light entertainment from the 60s and 70s

The black and white minstrel Show will never be recommissioned. Apart from the racism it was crap telly.

All these programmes were of an era when no one knew any better ( or cared for that matter)..

I watched a programme the other night about larry Grayson and some of his material was highly contentious and contraversial but now we have the likes of david walliams and no one bats an eyelid..

I can’t see Jim Davidson doing his Chalky White character on prime time BBC1 in the near future, although I did like him in the Generation Game and Big Break when he moved into light entertainment
