How well do you get on with your next door neighbours. I have a guy early 60s one side we say hello and pass the time of day but in 23 years ive never had a proper conversation with him.

The otherside is a lady in her 60s. Lovely we get on really well always help each other out but rarely go inside each others house

Im on the end of a row of 3 the next door neighbour is about 60 and a grumpy old sod..we don't talk..he tries to cause to cause trouble between me and the other neighbours

The family on the other side of him i am on nodding terms with but i tend to keep myself to myself

One side have been unfriendly since day one. The other side the man is friendly when he feels like it and the woman clearly never feels like being friendly.

We have never been inside the house of anyone in the road but lots of them have been in ours. People seem to be quite unneighbourly.

We used to get on well with the neighbours on either side of us. One was in her 90s and the other in her 80s. Both have sadly died now and we have new neighbours, the guy on one side works shifts and often stops at his girlfriends whilst the woman and kids on the other side we never see or hear anything from, they have lived there nearly two years now and I honestly don't even know what they look like during the holidays the kids appear to have spent the whole time in their bedrooms.

The only person we really speak to on our street lives across the road and we refer to as the neighbourhood watch as she knows everything about everybody living on the street and sometimes those who are just visiting.

Youngest by far in a very small closed community. They're retired and gossip in the day (One neighbour tells us), we work in the day and hardly ever speak to them after tiring work days. Hello is as far as it's got with most in two years.

My last set of neighbors where absolute butt holes so I got ths bank of mum to buy me a house

Get on really well with these neighbors do odd jobs for them they dog sit for me it's all good

One side is my gp’s surgery, the only issue I have is some of the patients parking and blocking my drive. The other side I don’t get on with, have tried but they try to blame my sons for everything just because they’re disabled. Yet they’ve caused more trouble the time I’ve been here than my sons ever would x

Ours are complete and total assholes drug taking possession head's. Selfish and couldn't give a shit about anyone.

And that's the good side the others are just total cunts on holiday at the moment very tempted to stick a hose pipe thru letterbox and leave it running for a couple of hours!

We have an old lady either side of us. They're amazing and we love them. One had a partner that died, and the other a mum that died. We've been here almost 30 years and we couldn't ask for better neighbours.

We also are lucky enough to be on awesome terms with most of our not next door neighbours. We're so lucky, and it's put into perspective when you watch some TV programs like nightmare neighbours.

Traffic land

I only have one direct neighbour (the other side, their access means we never cross paths).

My neighbour is an absolute darling, he has a daughter the same age as mine and they get on very well. He takes my rubbish down if I don’t get there first, he’s tackled my garden on more than one occasion and we regularly sit and share a glass of wine on our balcony.

I got myself rather a bad concussion earlier on in the summer and he was a gem then too, I offered to do a bbq as a thank you and as a chef he completely took over

I hope I play my part, he was away recently for 3 weeks and I made sure they had supplies to come back to and looked after his plants (he’s very green fingered, I’m a hopeless case) and I frequently bake his daughter’s favourite treats.

I have amazing neighbours. Small hamlet, and anyone will do anything for anyone. Some of them I am close enough to pop in houses any time. I have always been lucky with neighbours.

We are an end terrace house but we know a fair few of the families and get on really well all helping each other out if it’s needed although there are always those few that just don’t want to know anyone else and moan about everyone else thinking they are so far above you and the others. Always a pity (not) when you see them get a door knock from the blue light brigade to cart one of them off for being a cock Womble.

My Own Little World

1 side is a woman in her 70s with her 2 unmarried daughters. Haven't spoken to one of them in 5 years after her last bitch fit, just because a friend of mine stopped her car infront of her house while she dropped some DVDs in mine, she didn't even enter my house. The nutter phoned the police, took photos of the car, threw my recycling bins over the street and tried kicking my door in. As she scares the shit out of the whole street she was mildly surprised when I opened the door and told her exactly what I thought of her ending with I wouldn't pee on her if she was on fire.

We haven't spoken since.

The other side 2 of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

ha. Its a definate mystery as to where they go. One minute they are there the next they have gone. Funniest though he has a 4 poster bed. You can see it out my window and this one bed has out survived all his wives

I only have one neighbour

He's a guy in his 30's, really pleasant and quiet as a church mouse in the week.

He has his two boys at weekend

I love listening to him chasing them about, running up & down

Hearing their playful screams and laughs when he catches them is heart warming.

He's a good Dad

I've only been in my current place since February but in the first few weeks the neighbours on one side had put a noise complaint in, despite the fact I don't have a sound bar or surround system, and the night they complained about I was watching a film at low volume. When I do any gaming I always use headphones and I'm away a lot anyway! It's alright for them to have screaming rows often or noisy friends round though, or to start throwing stuff in their glass recycling bin at 23:30 on a night

The Demographics in my street have changed since I moved into my house in 1992.

The Old Lady who lived opposite me knew every car coming & going at all hours; not being nosey, just keeping an eye on things! An early Neighbourhood Watch! She passed away about 15 yrs ago.

Neighbour one side is now retired & she house watches for me when I work away. Neighbour other side is like me, works away from home and only gets back couple of times a year.

Four families still live in street from when I first moved in but their children now have homes of their own either rented or in one case, have bought their own.

Rest of the street are transient; stay for a few months then move on. Over the years too Housing Associations took over some homes and had families kicked out of other estates in town, move in! We had it all, drugs, rowdy behaviour into early hours. One house became a "fence" for stolen goods. My home and that of others, burgled by those scrotes but you couldn't prove it; I was burgled 3 times in 18 months!

Troublemakers eventually thrown out by Authorities and Peace has reigned for a number of years. It isn't perfect but Council funded improvement schemes even in our street of privately owned homes has improved the area.

Me and the family get on well with some of the neighbours in our street including our new neighbours who moved in next door a month ago or so.

Me and my brother always help put Christmas icicle lights up on the neighbours houses. The new neighbours look forward to decorating the house as they love decorating for Christmas just as much as we do lol. They will also be coming round for bonfire night which will be good

Hiding in the shadows

I have great neighbours, it's a very family orientated road, several generations of numerous families spread along it.

There's a large group of a traveller family too, who've been settled here over 40yrs - years back it had a reputation as being rough due to them, but it's the friendliest place and probably the safest area in the whole village.

Only blip, a family moved into the small block of flats next to me, at least 9 of them in a 2 bed flat & they totaly monopolise the parking spaces. Leave gaps not big enough to fit in, but move their cars up when soneone comes home to create a space.

I let my 2 elderly neighbours park on my drive as they struggle to find spots.

Last week I came home to find one of this family had parked on my drive... He soon shifted his car though - git!

Nice and nasty. Although there is a sort of truce with the nasty after nearly 10 yrs. She's still barmy though. Take in parcels for 2 or 3 of them and they do the same for us, have been in a few of their houses for quick chats and a nosy as they have mine

When i had my own place i lived next door to an older mature couple on one side. Never spoke as they worked shifts etc and i keep myself to myself.

They moved out just before my first child was born and the house was empty for approximately 2 years. Then suddenly i see his wife in the garden clearing stuff out as it was being sold.

Apparently he had been arrested and imprisoned for downloading child pornography. She’d left him and details had been published of the Court case in the local paper etc.

Then a bloke moved into their house and he kept chickens and three cockrels in a coop in his front garden. The crowing at all times of the day and early hours was a mare and the smell was fecking awful.

I sold up and moved out a year later.

You never know what goes on behind closed doors!

Of the 6 in my block, I have only 1 neighbour that hasn't changed in the 6 years I have been in my flat and that is the one neighbour I don't engage with since theey invited themselves in for a nosey (complete with innapropriate comments on my belongings) on the day I moved in. Most of the other neighbours I hardly see due to my long working day and the fact that I am often away at weekends but I do greet them with a hello or nod -I am a bit embarrassed to say that i know none of the current lot by name (as most have been living there less than a year).
