Last bean dilemma

The last few baked beans stubbornly refuse to release their grip on the bottom of the tin.

Do you frantically shake the tin like some manic masturbator, risking life and limb and spraying the cooker with tomato sauce, until every last one of the tiny tenacious terrors is on the pan or do you nonchalantly say "fuck that" and send them on their way to recycling heaven?

I leave no bean behind!

It really annoys me when that last bean won't release his grip. Crowbar, dynamite, Semtex or just swilling a bit of water in the bottom of the tin...one way or another that last bean's coming out!

I use a specialised rounded piece of kitchen equipment. Aka a spoon.

Store the tins upside down in the future.....

Small bit of milk, swish it round, get more juice from the tin at the same time and massively improve the flavour of the beans as well as thicken the sauce a little.

Herbs or chili flakes or curry powder for flavour.

Good idea. I did used to open the tins at the bottom but these new ringpull tins have put a stop to that. Damn technology.

There's always quite a lot of beans left in the bottom of the can because I like to get a spoon and eat them cold from the can!

They changed the design so the cans can be more easily stacked. You can't get a can opener on the bottom any more.

Can also be used to get beans out of a tin.

I have the same issue with spaghetti hoops (I don't like baked beans). I use a spoon to get the stubborn ones out.

If I havn't diligently turned it upside down or given it a good shake prior to opening, then whatever is stuck gets sworn at, and sent to recycling heaven. I have no patience for slow beans.
