Quick meals that hit the spot

Solihull

I can cook but during the week I am pushed for time and would rather not spend much time on it and I'm eating to many takeaway meals.

Any ideas for quick meals that are tasty, don't take long and don't have 43 ingredients.

I like just about everything

What's your go to quickie meal

Stir fry. I just get one of those pre-prepared packs and add some chunky veg and noodles.

Not my go to, and I hadn’t had it in AGES until about 2 weeks ago. But I forgot what a guilty pleasure the simple beans on toast was until I fancied a quick and easy meal one day.

With brown sauce, of course! Sometimes the old faves are the best!

Beans and cheese on toast is a favourite of mine - but I would NEVER ruin it with brown sauce

All variations of toast are a can't be arsed quick meal for me.

Or cereal

You can buy some ready made up meals in asda. Ingredients are fresh, not frozen! You just pop in microwave for a few minutes. Very tasty.

Or buy frozen pies and frozen mash potato. I honestly think frozen mash taste better then fresh. Takes 3 mins in the microwave to cook. By time you finish in the shower, your steak pie will be cooked. Gravy takes as long as your kettle boils.

You can buy fresh veg and steam it using your microwave. I use a small glass bowel with a lid. Place a small amount of water inside and your veg. Freshly streamed veg in 3/4 minutes. Grill some salmon fillets covered in lemon slices or Philadelphia cheese and you'll be onto a winner .

Buy a slow cooker. Any kind of casserole or even sausage casserole is so tasty by using a slow cooker. Just buy a packet of sausage casserole mix or steak casserole mix whatever you want. Make it up, add to the slow cooker with your sausages and your veg. Put cooker on the slow setting. Tasty meal done by time you finish work
