Today I am helping a lady who, has just been diagnosed with cancer, help clear her parents grounds.

Her father has just been offered a bed a st Gemma’s hospice to live out his last few days. And her poor mother is in remission and unable to cope.

Today I am humbled. Today I have seen true sadness. I hope my work today helps these lovely people get through such a difficult time. I hope my happiness can shine on them too.

Makes you realise one life. Live it.

That is such a kind thing to do, the world needs more people like you.

Life is indeed short and can be cruel and unfair, that's why everyone should be kinder to others and us all live life to the full as much as we can.

My friend was diagnosed with cancer she sadly died last year.

Her husband two weeks later.

My housemate was diagnosed in November.... I looked after him gave up my job.

I went to see my friend in hospital every day. Sadly cancer had spread.

Goes a lot further than people realise. Unfortunately there are too many people in this world that feel only their time is precious, when everyone's time is precious, and a little help from one person to another can make a world of difference.

I volunteer at the children's hospice, never experienced heartbreak like it in my life yet the courage these families show astound me. I am truly humbled by each and everyone them, especially the kids x

Well done OP.

I volunteer at my local hospital and run an arthritis support group and we have great fun exercising in hydro pool and gym with physios once a week.

Today I volunteered again. This was completely beyond what I had agreed to do before but it was the right thing to do - to finish the garden. If a job is worth doing it’s worth doing well and all that. We did. It looked amazing. And i’m a pretty shite gardener.

Unfortunately the lady’s husband had sadly passed. So wouldn’t get to see the final results.

My original post wasn’t looking for praise or recognition of being a good man. It was more to put into perspective the trials people go through without their control and that some of us build problems into bigger deals than they are really when compared to true sorrow.

My thoughts are with her.
