Sloe Gin

As I’m a bit of a gin virgin and only tried Gordon’s pink gin. I’d like to know what this sloe gin is all about

Is it bitter and what would you suggest drinking it with?

Might treat myself this weekend....mmmm

Download the “Ginventory” from the App Store. Search for your gin and it tells you what the best tonic and garnish goes with that gin.

I make my own slow gin. It’s sweet. I tend to sip it slowly like you would a whiskey

The right place

You can drink sloe gin neat or mix it with a variety of things. Tonic water is the obvious one. But it’s nice with a sparkling white wine a bit like a kir royale.

PDI Gran Canaria

Slow gin is one of my favourites, you can have it with ice and fever tree tonic. We make our own as well which is far better than Gordon's tbh.

I've made my own and you can sweeten to your taste once it's completed. It's very fruity and more like a liqueur.. or at least that's how mine turns out. I've never tasted a bought one.

I’m not normally a gin person but I so love pink gin with pink lemonade lucozade....lol

Dying to try sloe gin and rhubarb and ginger

Wouldn’t know if Gordon’s is classed as crap or not as I haven’t tried anything else

I’m always open to suggestions

I won’t be making my own as haven’t got the patience

I make my own every year.

As others have said it’s sweet as you have to add lots of sugar to make the sloe berries palatable.

It’s like a lethal hit of alcoholic Ribena.

Sloe gin is the correct gin for the cocktail Slow Confortable Screw (giggles ).

Sloe gin ( slow ), Southern Comfort ( the comfortable) and vodka and orange juice ( which is a screwdriver ).

Soles down my way are already ripe for picking...(6 weeks early). They’ll be knackered by the time the first frosts arrive. Suggest picking now if ready and pop them in the freezer overnight, simulates frost!

Sloe gin is supposed to be more for cold weather when you don’t really want ice in your drink.

Ginventory is an excellent app btw.
