I would never block anyone on the forums....

I like to read different opinions on subjects because that is the only way.... I can learn something new....

But on the forums you have different rules....

If a woman post something like... is my profile ok with nothing but nude pics.. she will get hugs and men queuing up to tell her she is beautiful....

If a man posted this he will be ripped to shreds...

No, purely because I can still see what they post, they can see what I post and we can interact with each other on the forums, despite the blocking.

If they sent me messages however and we interacted outwith the forums and they did something to earn a block, then sure. But I wouldn’t block them for posting an offensive thread for instance

I've blocked three people in my time here - two of them have been through forum heads where they displayed frankly vile homophobia towards me and others on a bi thread.

I've also been blocked by other forum users for one reason or another - usually because they're not looking for someone like me - no skin off my nose either way.

If you click a profile that's blocked you, you still habe the menu at the top and the option to block them back. Stops them from unblocking you when they fancy.

Our block list is bigger than our friends list, we mean no offence by it but if someone's viewed our profile or messaged us and we have no interest in them we see no reason why anything will change and they go in the list.

You can get a forum ban for doing that. I did. "

You don't get a ban for responding to people who have blocked you, you will get a time out if you ask why or ask them to unblock you, message you etc.

I did this a few weeks ago. Spent about half an hour unblocking 200 or so people. I’ve blocked the majority of them again already

I did it because I was in bed ill and really bored...it was tedious but I was looking for someone who had actually left the blocked page because I had blocked so many people. Never again

The most recent was for answering an advice thread in a way the poster didn't want to hear. Shame, really - I quite liked her and would have met her, given the opportunity, but I accidentally bruised her ego by giving a (possibly poorly phrased) straight answer when she actually just wanted some attention. Lesson learned!

If I felt strongly about something then yes I would block. I have blocked and I once counter blocked. The forums are no different to any other area of Fab in that sense, you will like/be attracted to some and not others, you will get on with some and not others.

Rarely, can count on one hand the number I have ever blocked. You have to be a proper tool for me to bother. I find it weird when you get blocked by people you've never had any interaction with though.

Sometimes the best advice is the one that people don’t always want to hear.

As long as people aren’t rude (and are within the rules ) I’d prefer they say what they mean rather than pussyfooting around women in fear of being blocked....

Why? I block for many reasons. If I block someone, I've no intention of meeting them, so it saves my inbox being clogged to by people messaging over and over, and messaging again a few months down the line, etc.

It leaves my inbox open to actual friends, people that want to ask genuine things, and people I may meet. Saves me so much time.

There are those that say they block forum users if they don't like their opinions/comments on the forum. That serves no purpose.

The only reason i'd block someone is if they sent unwanted messages more than once.

I'm nosey, so often check out others profiles, never contact them, maybe fab a photo, and If I revisit a profile because I forgot I've seen it before, I often find I'm blocked. Just the Fab way I think.

mines the guys or girls that show they have no respect for others. Or are abusive to people that comment differently to their views on threads.

One last week for instance a guy that if someone disagreed was making personal comments about people's profiles.
