What do you think OP? Is there some form sexual tension in all of the Male friendships you have?

I have female friends but they’re not my besties or anything like that, so not really tight-knit friendships. And I don’t feel sexually drawn to them all (hey, I’m not going to deny there’s one or two I wouldn’t mind get tiddly or handsy over a bottle of wine with ..

) but on the whole, absolutely, I think you can have friends of the opposite sex without wanting to get your tinky winky wet!

Yes. I have had a female friend for the last 7 years and we have never had any inclination to have sex. In fact I think if we did it might damage what is very valuable in the relationship. We can give each other mutual support as friends rather than lovers when we go through the inevitable difficult times.

I have experienced a male friend trying to step over the line of friendship with me yes but that’s not what my thread was about. It was inspiration from a different thread.

I see sex could get in the way for you though

Yes my best friend is a woman,we met when I was 7 and she was 6!

....she moved in two doors down,she's like a sister to me,we've laughed together cried together, and we've always been there for each other, we live in different countries now but still stay in touch regularly!

One of my best friends is a woman, we've known each other for about 15 years now and never once has there been anything even approaching a sexual nature to our friendship.

Of course! Most of my closest friends are male, though since joining fab I've formed the closest friendships that I've ever had with a group of amazing women who I would now class as family

I get how difficult some people find it to accept friends of opposite sex, it's hard to see past the social conditioning, but openness and trust plays a major part.

I grew up around women so most of my friends are women.

They are like sisters to me and I do not think of them in any other way.

So it is possible. All depends on how the friendships developed.

I've got 3 very close female friends and I've known them since they were 5 years old.
