Well I have paid my £90 to get the inspector out, he has been out and marked up the position the kerb will go, I am now waiting for an Email telling me how much it's going to cost so lets have a guess at what the total price is going to be, in my head including the £90 inspection I am thinking £1,000 what do you think ?

A colleague was quoted 1500 for one up here recently. It's worth calling around the approved contractors

Crikey! I'm guessing this is for lowering the kerb for a new driveway?

I was guessing a forum ban for some obscure drugs reference along the lines of I was in Birmingham and dropped some wicked curb.

We've had a few guesses as to how much ours will be. 4 kerb stones. You also have to use the people the council recommend to do it to!! Mind you I am in Northampton and the council here has fucked up massively so it'll probably double. Thieving bastards!!

Madness. I'd probably just chuck a couple of wedges of wood next to the existing kerb.

Or do it myself in the night under the cover of darkness.

I had one quoted for in Birmingham, when the council had a half-price deal. Was 500, so your 1000 is probably correct. Maybe contact them to see if they have another lower priced period coming up?

Sometimes councils do deals on dropping them If several do them in the same street at the same time.

We were quoted about 2600. They have to mess about with the pavement too as well as kerbstones and it is huge.

i reckon materials 200 quid max

use concrete instead of tarmac as harder wearing

labour (i'd do it myself) but paying someone lets say £400 max

true cost should be £600

Elf and safety, your bit has to match up to the rest so no one trips up over the crack. Cost of insurance to be sued £2400
