I saw a post earlier today from a guy who said he'd read an article about internet dating gist was ..

ladies swamped with interest confidence boosted became more selective etc..

guys more often than not polar opposites..no interest confidence eroded and more desperate.

If that's true..

Why don't single guys go back to meeting ladies in the real world where it's likely a more level playing field with numbers, meet folk face to face they'd get more of their personality etc ?

Online dating is a joke these days with the amount of apps freely available is rediculous.

These sites are littered with fake profiles selling themselves for sex / webcam / etc.

More dishonest people as least with fab people are more upfront about their situation from the get go.

Tend to find many just want to be message buddies rather than meet for real dates due to busy lives hence why they are using dating apps in the first place.

Online dating is a big business with many of serious dating websites are subscription based offering a 'better match compatibility '.

I guess with real life those who are single are more than likely to already be using dating apps with how easy and accessible they are already.

Being of a certain age all the men I know in real life are in relationships! I think it gets harder as you get older to find single people in the outside world ( note I didn’t say real as we are all just as real in here!) therefore online it’s more plausible and in here potentially more upfront and out what we’re looking for

Totally when younger my social circle was enormous going out on weekends meeting new people etc...

As I got older the circle slowly dwindled people friends moved on settled down started families etc, with working longer hours finding the time to go out and meet new people is harder.

I think it's sensible to invest your efforts where you are most likely to be successful but perhaps also not exclusively in one method. The internet offers more potential to experiment at lower cost, whilst refining techniques - it's also 24/7.

People don't always do the most seemingly intelligent or sensible things of course. Sometimes it will be the easiest route taken, even if it doesn't prove immediately successful. Meeting in person is also more challenging for people - their ego, as well as the practicalities.
