How accountable are you

For the way you live and lead your life? Is work intrusive, are you closely governed by family and local authorities or do you get away with whatever you choose to, as no one's really keeping an eye or relying on you?

What does that mean?

Family comes first always. Having a few sick relatives means I can be called on at anytime for help. Other than that we are free to do whatever whenever.

I am responsible and accountable to my family and them only, if ever I am unsure about doing something I think about how it will affect my family.

Other than than I work to live not live to work and we fully intend to live it

I don't have a boss for a start. I don't need an licence to do my job so I can't be fired for being politically incorrect. I've got enough money that I'm not desperate for it and don't need the state to do much for me. The less I see them, the better. I resent every interaction.

Governed by family.

I have two bambino’s under 9, one of whom has ASD and requires weekly therapy sessions, so when i’m not in work i’m running him about.

We also live with my mum who has poor health and mobility issues and i’m an only child.

My children rule the roost. However at 18,12 and 10 I'm slowly getting more me time..

Work fills the rest of my time. Currently there's little work life balance. I start a new job next month though which should change that.

I used to feel quite trapped in my life at times, i think if we are honest we all do sometimes.

I'm the master of my own destiny

Governed by family.

I have two disabled sons and one needs constant care and supervision so I’m always on mom duties. Plus my mom isn’t in the best of health so have to be on alert. X

If I had my way, I'd pack a rucksack and p**s off to the southwest and wouldn't look back but alas the bank manager says I'm not allowed to!

I am mostly free of ties or rules. My child hasn't started school yet, I am financially secure so can pick and choose when I work and thankfully no other family rely on me at the moment.

My only constraints are social and moral.

My children govern what I do but I choose to put them first.

Luckily with work I'm self employed so I have a degree of flexibility.

Other than that, I'm a bit of a wild child so I live my life how I want to.

I'm accountable to Mr N, myself and my children emotionally, the local authority, the government and Barclaycard financially.

I'm responsible for my parents, Mr N and my children which is different to being accountable to or for in my opinion. I'm not responsible for the government because I didn't vote for them.

And now I'm flaming responsible for a half empty biscuit tin. Who knew you could eat 8 chocolate malted milks without noticing

On the whole we have a very good work life balance. Work to live not live to work.

Though work can sometimes be intrusive, this is not a regular thing. I do have to be available for out of hours emergencies every 4/5 weeks which is a bit of a pain but working hours are fairly flexible.

Family are very important to us but everyone is very independent at the moment. Children are adults and parents are generally well. Even my 93 year old gran only needs very little actual support.

We are able to pretty much live the life we want much of the time. We're very lucky.

Nita

I understand your sentiments but I think if you're not careful you miss out on your own life and aspirations.

Up until fairly recently, I (Mart) had to be pretty sensible with things like the internet, money, and social morality, and if I had gone a step further with a work promotion I would have had to have declared being a swinger

Other than that, I also had elderly family to support when needed, and my own close family.

Now, things are different, people have passed on, I have changed direction, and kids are old enough to be finding their own way in the world, so apart from Jaynes work (shifts) being a bit limiting, we are free to do, and say, pretty much what we want.
