Great place! I travelled there two years ago. The Peruvians are the nicest people you will ever meet. Lake Titicaca is great & would recommend the trek to Machu Pichu

If you go to Machu Pichu please DON'T go on the tourist bus. If you're up for a 4 day adventure (hard work at times) you have to hike the trail. It's worth every step and your first view of MP is not one the tourist bus will show you

It's simply stunning.

Places on the trail are limited, best to look into booking asap.

Try eating the Ceviche in Lima; it is fantastic. Personally I thought Lake Titicaca was just a big tourist trap.

I hiked from Peru around Titicaca and into Bolivia and down into Chile, the scenery is awesome.

I didn't see much of Peru except the southern tip but what's not to like

Pipe players and mariachi bands are everywhere in Peru and Bolivia. By the time you hear El Condor Passa for the umpteenth time its like having your teeth drilled.

Peru is a wonderful place, worth the travel.

Taxis in Lima had a bit of a reputation, however the square in Cusco is stunning.

Don’t drink too much tea and don’t forget to barter for everything.

Have an amazing trip.

This seems the most detailed thread on Peru. Reigniting, in case anyone planning to go this year.

I will be in Cusco for a month and then traveling around for another 2 in Peru. As a single gent.

Any info, pointers in the right direction, or (nirvana!) Introductions to the swinger comnunity and lifestyle events, parties, clubs.. would be great. I'm going with a blank slate but hear Peru is an amazing country.

Thank you! PMs and more detailed convos most welcome too. I can return the favor for most of SE Asia and Europe.

For like an American dollar, you can hire a local kid to carry all your crap for you and follow yoy when you go hiking all day long. Like your water bottles and backpack etc. They are pretty honest. (I wouldn't give them your phone and wallet. You know what I mean.)
