My dog thinks she's a cow

She's black and white and likes to eat grass. I'm guessing there could be some nutritional or intestinal benefit so i most often let her get on with it.

The problem is when she tries to poop it out, she can't. So it's a case of grabbing her tail with one hand and the turtle's head with the other and pulling. Nice.

It reminds me of a children's entertainer pulling endless lengths of handkerchiefs from up his sleeve. I still love her to bits though.

The Town by The Cross

Dogs eat grass for a reason.

For some it's because of a deficiency in their diet and they are trying to get what they are lacking.

For others it's a method of ridding themselves of intestinal worms.

"I thought they eat grass to make themselves sick?"

The only time she's ever been sick is when she ate daffodil leaves, she doesn't do that any more.

Possibly, but she's fed on top quality food and regularly wormed so who knows?

My dad ( sign of the cross , nod of the head ) used to say it aided digestion when our dog chewed greens.

Slough Windsor ish

I feel your pain... Our cat Kevin eats any plants and flowers we have (he's a house cat) then either yuks them up with furballs or poops them out, all strung together by green stringy leaves and stems like a chain of sausages

Feed her raw tripe it has all the nutrients in it from grass.

We raw feed our dogs.

I'm not worried, she's 7 now and always done it and so far she'd never been ill.
