"An hour of intervals on the treadmill tonight. Park run pace was just pver 8 minute mile on Saturday so used that as a base. 4 lots of 90secs at 7 1/2 min/mile straight into 30 seconds at 7 min/mile. And then after a rest 5 lots of 30 seconds at 6 1/2 min/mile. Every effort included a 2 minute gradual build up to interval pace. Well and truly bolloxed now!" Ouch! That sounds tough, well done!

I can’t say that I’ve got any love for dreadmills nor interval sessions for that matter, they’re both a wonderful new fresh hell for me

A necessary evil on my quest for a sub 22 minute parkrun!

A sub 22 parkrun is a worthy target. My start of year target was sub 25, I’m currently on 22.51

I did my first 8k run today. Lost time getting lost and checking the route in places but staggered around in under 46 minutes. Quicker average than my 7k though that was on dangerous trip hazard countryside lol

"I’ve got my long run this afternoon, feeling nervous even though I ran this distance the other week, peak month is scaring me" You'll be fine. Remember, it's likely to be cooler than two weeks ago, so will be easier. Take it steady.

"I'm still on the injured list Not much you can do for a sore achilles Lots of rest is the best thing! Have you been told how long to stop for?" I'm on day ten of a self imposed shut down, it's driving me mad, but I know that I'll just cripple myself if I try anything too soon. at the moment I think it's going to be another 10 days

Too many people come back from injury too quickly, or straight back at their previous intensity.

But at least thigh has held up though now opposite ankle is niggling Should be ok for Tuesday’s run
