Sell our house by means of raffle ticket let’s say £15 a ticket. We’ve heard of people who’ve done it, it’s not illegal & would save us lots of fees, buyers haggling etc.

Has anybody done it & what are the possible negatives apart from not selling enough tickets, guess we could put a disclaimer down somewhere.

I’m sure many would say we’d be mad to do it but can’t help thinking about the benefits.

Thanks in advance.

I'd think you'll need to make sure you sell enough tickets. Maybe look up stories of similar raffles. They seemed to end ok.

We’d need to sell more than 10,000 tickets, but would people really want to come & view & pay for surveys etc on a house they could win for £15?

I’m not sure we would we might do a bit of research but think most would buy tickets with a view to selling the house on, so would just take a chance.

I hear of this more and more, best get in quick before the government tax the idea!

People used to do this in the eighties when the housing market crashed and selling a house was extremely difficult. I didn't hear of anyone who did it successfully though.

You're still going to have solicitors fees though unless you can do the conveyancing yourself.
