Good start I picked some sloe berries this last week to make some sloe gin.. does anyone else here make it.

I have made it a few times. I’m running low on supplies. I usually wait until September to pick sloes. Put them in the freezer to crack the skins.

My dad made some a few years back. I can't say much about it, other than it tasted really nice. It was quite sticky and sickly but it had really absorbed the flavour of the sloes. I'm surprised more people don't make it.

Yes I,ve heard some people wait for the first frost to catch em and yes others into the freezer funnily enough I picked them in august last year they were alright after being in the fridge I saw some other sloes earlier in the week and they were bigger lovely colour to right out in farmland I love the countryside in general..

Thats true Its a simple beverage to make you just have to pay for your gin and sugar thou I use the cheapest gin it still tastes nice and I use slender sugar for health reasons but for once a year your not breaking the bank..
