Stone Sour's most recent tour was incredible when I saw them in Birmingham, but my favourite gig ever (so far, got one coming up September that'll probably top it) was Halestorm, Shine down, and Black Stone Cherry on their Carnival of Madness tour in Birmingham

Any time I've seen Motorhead, but particularly the Iron Fist tour at the Birmingham Odeon in 1981.

And any time I've seen Rammstein. Or Metallica.

Or Ali Farka Toure and Toumani Diabate in 2005.

Or Nightwish in Brum in 2005.

Blimey, so many to pick from....

Massive attack at the NEC arena on their mezzanine tour was awesome.

Porcupine Tree at the wulfran was amazing.

Tool in Nottingham Arena was stunning.

Aphex twin in Birmingham was brilliant yet mind blowing

Jane's Addiction at a tiny club (Burburry's) in Birmingham, just after the release of 'Nothing's Shocking')

Guns 'N' Roses at Manchester Apollo on the 'Appetite...' tour.

2 dates on the most recent Steven Wilson tour.

That's more than one but they were all brilliant and memorable.

I could probably fill a book, given the amount of gigs I've been to.

Motorhead's 10th birthday gig at Hammersmith in 1985 takes some beating for me. Skid Row at London Docklands was a damn fine gig, too.

Foo fighters set at Glastonbury last year. Might have something to do with the atmosphere and alcohol but I thought it was magical x

People have some good musical taste on here!

For a big show, I saw Rage Against The Machine in 94/95 which was pretty fucking good.

For smaller bands. Dillinger Escape Plan & Converge sometime in the 2000s. In a small pub venue. Epic.

Hillside desolate

Guns n Roses would definitely be up there, their set over ran by about an hour, they just didnt want to leave the stage

James Brown was mega late on stage but so awesome when he got there.

The Stone Roses were great at Glasgow Green but that's maybe just because I love them so much.

Been to lots of gigs but there are two that stand out....ond was in a little venue in Dundee, Fat Sam's, where I saw The Buzzcocks and a local band called The Trade, was a memorable night. The second would have to be Bob Dylan...well, because it was BOB DYLAN lol...oh, the "support" act was Mark Knopfler...all good lol.

Glasgow

Far too many to choose from. But Prince’s Hit’n’Run show at the Electric Ballroom in Camden a few years ago was pretty special.

Queued for three hours, £10 to get in, just time to get a drink, then a blistering two hour set to a tiny audience with his all girl band Third Eye Girl. I still can’t believe he’s gone.

Madness comeback gig in Finsbury Park 1992

Madness playing in a small bar to launch their Liberty Of Norton Folgate album

Muse at the Emirates and Etihad in 2014

U2 at Don Valley Stadium in 2009 (I think)

Green Day Hyde Park 2017

The Beat at Hammersmith Palais in 1982

The right place

I was a big fan of Kula Shaker and was gutted when they split up. But months later some of them formed a new band called The Jeevas. I went to a gig in a very small venue in Bristol. It was fantastic, as they had recently formed they didn’t have a big new repertoire so most of the songs they played were Kula Shaker ones.

The venue was small but packed so it made for a real party!

Oh castle donington. Guns and roses. Their first ever uk gig. A couple of guys died in the crush and that’s unforgivable on the part of the organisers, security etc

But it was a good show. Just not worth anyone’s life.

Hopefully lessons were learned.

Cradle of Filth , Cambridge , July 2012 . A couple of weeks before we got married in a small venue , junction 2 if I remember rightly .

My wife got the tickets through the fan site and it was a one off before they toured Eastern Europe as they needed to get a gig in with the new drummer .

I was deaf for a week afterwards , so loud , but bloody amazing . Easily the best gig we’ve ever been too .
