Controversial choices here. MissJ doesn’t like either - likes a good, straightforward fish and chipping.

Depends where you go also, local chippys here are terrible,

What about tartar sauce or brown sauce?

Oh now look what you’ve started! As a northerner by birth we used to have breakfast, dinner and tea. Quite a shock to find that dinner is an evening thing down south.

An evening thing?

It was quite a shock to a southerner that tea was an evening meal

Takes all sorts doesn’t it

It surely does. Perhaps why we are all on here to try a few of the many sorts - certainly why we are here.

Excellent call re fish and chips OP, even if you’ve made me hungry.

If we're off to the chippy for dinner then I'll swop the curry sauce for mushy peas and I think I'll swop the fish for a saveloy. I haven't had a good saveloy for such a long time. They don't seem to be too popular in Leeds

I like to fry up leftover chips in the frying pan with some chopped onion, sliced chili peppers, a little pepper and some Jamaican jerk seasoning.

Serve with splash of balsamic and tomato sauce to taste and a side of doughy bread.
