I chat to new people everyday, got chatted up on ferry coming back from nudist beach tonight she asked me what I had been up to all day so I told her, she wasn't taken aback we had a right laugh

In the morning as always will go down to the kitchen. Tatsuko will already be up and about doing her morning exercises and her English homework. I will be laughing and chuckling away to myself over nothing, just happy we have another day to go through together, my happy smiling face will get her laughing away, sets us up both very well for the day. Why am I so happy first thing in the morning? Every day is fresh and nothing has gone wrong yet.

I try not to be a c*nt most days to be honest, admittedly it doesn’t always work, especially on here!

Be polite, hold open a door, compliment someone (in a non-creepy almost sex-offenderish way), have a little conversation with that little old lady in the shop queue.

Yesterday I helped an old chap carry a heavy suitcase up some stairs he was struggling with - I think his Mrs was more pleased than he was (I think his pride meant he wanted to struggle on with it!) so I think I pleased her but pissed off him .. you can’t win sometimes I think!

I managed to take my residents affected by dementia on a picnic trip this week. Some hadn't been out for 4 years

The smiles were woth the effort!

I'm lucky that I do a job where I'm making a difference to people's lives every day. Just this Thursday I took a man I've been working with for a walk outdoors, which he hadn't done for well over 9 months! And on Monday I get to go back to see a lady who I've been working with for a month or two who's been stuck in an armchair for 7 months and we (me and the physio) are getting her walking again!

and rach....what a great feeling it is when those ppl you have helped are able

to achieve something spectacular....

I did my good deed today without even thinking of this thread...i knocked some money off for a client as they don't have much...xxx

I made a dinosaur house (never thought I'd be doing THAT) for my oldest grandson and just cuddled the life out of my youngest. They make every new day fresh and full of promise for me...and definitely make me a better person. It's impossible not to be positive when there's love all around you. I'm so lucky.
