In purchasing decisions, should one follow their head, or their heart?

"Depends if you can afford it "

Well, equal costs upfront, but it's a consumable, so the head says the one that will last longer, the heart says something else

Depends on what it is. Practical things for the house it’s my head. Buying a car it’s my heart lol.

Head, and I have several numerical models to help inform it.

For a house that’s going to be a home, the heart - everything else the head.

If it's something practical then head... if it's a pair of shoes then heart

Ah... car is something I couldn't give a fuck about as long as it's reliable and economical. Head on that one.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I try and have a balance of the two for large items. I don't like spending lots of money on something that I then don't enjoy or end up hankering after the other one that captured my heart.

Small things tend to be whims. I'm a spendthrift.

There's two things that you've said that I will never forget. The watch thing and the butt plug thing.

Should be head, but if I see a new pair of shoes or boots then I'm afraid my heart rules.

"Head. Who actually gives a shit what other people think?"

Why do you think the thing the heart wants has anything to do with what other people will think? The only person who will know is me.

Because there is no logical reason to buy a BMW M5 over a Ford Mondeo. It screams: “Look at my status!”

A Ford mondeo is shit and boring

An M5 isn’t

Why do some people instantly think anyone with anything remotely nice is doing it for the “status”

Life's too short if financially it won't affect your every day life go for it.

If it turns into a money pit you've learnt not to do it again.
