Macallan had produced a one-off Specialist whisky which was going to be sold two days ago, from a specific time in the morning.

But so many people descended on the town, filling hotels, campsites etc from the night before plus many people parked up overnight on local roads such that they blocked roads preventing locals from going about their work, that gridlock occurred. Police had to be called in to soothe frayed tempers and restore order!

Macallan have said they'll change their Sales Policy for any such future event!
