Boys should be allowed to play with dolls, paint their nails and wear play up dresses as children as it’s part of imagination play and girls allowed to dress in boys clothes and play with cars etc. Seems to be unpopular with so many people! He cut the lobe of his ear off and gave it to a prostitute he was infatuated with. He was 35 and absolutely smashed d*unk on absinth. Afterwards the locals called him a mad man and had him put into an asylum alongside other, no doubt, genuinely mad nutters. I'm sure he was unhinged by such events. But I don't think this contributed to his suicide any more than the suicides of other great romantics. They killed themselves in emotional anguish not insanity.

None of any of this had any impact whatsoever on his art. It was amazing clever highly crafted art. Not the work of a mad man at all.
