I reckon it is terror related.

A 'man' has been arrested. It's always a man.

The police were there within a minute or two - credit where it's due.

Lucky escape by the sounds of it.

If it is a terrorist attack then it's extremely difficult to defend against. All my thoughts for victims and emergency services.

Love the speculation on this place.

Scotland Yard have yet to say if it is an terrorist related act.

Let's just wait until the official confirmation.....

Witness said it looked deliberate.

It could just be a crazy coincedance but I don't think it was. Not that our opinions on the subject matter too much

"Being treated as terror attack according to BBC."

I've also read it looked like a man in a business suit so could be accident/coincidence.

The Police responded as if it was terror related, as you'd expect them to.

You mean he wasn't dressed in a terrorist uniform? Maybe it was in the wash?!

No I have just read stuff on ITV news and was just relaying that.

When something like this happens quite often it is a distraction keeping you from seeing something else

Ah yes of course, thank you.

This was a few hours ago and thankfully nothing else happened 'over there'.

Armed officers are leaving the scene so that suggests it was just this. On this occasion.

I heard a rumour on Facebook he was a white guy.Although thankfully he still could be a white Muslim and our confirmation biases can remain intact.

He's not, there's photos of him being arrested at the scene on Guido Fawkes site.

The pic I’ve seen on Twitter is of a guy in jeans .. I’m sure it’ll all become clear later.

The pic I’ve seen is of a black chap being pulled from the car, assuming it is the driver in question. Perhaps we should all refrain from jumping to conclusions until the facts are clear?

He didn't look white in the sky news thing I just saw where they had circled someone. They could of circled the wrong guy.

It didn't look like a suit he was wearing, hard to tell from the picture I saw.

The Police are treating it as terror.

That doesn't mean it is, they will try and rule terror out.

The guy could of just come off a night shift and fallen asleep at the wheel. It just happened to be here, Parliament area.

He knocked cyclists over. He might of had road rage.

He might of been a terrorist and wanted to kill people.

Police update at 11.30am

They'll treat it like a terror incident until they know it isn't. Much like the incident by the science and natural history museum last year which turned out to be an Uber driver taking a wring turn.

That said given where the car has come to a stop it does look slightly more sinister than a driver deliberately crashing in to cyclists which is far from unheard of.

Maybe the Russians .?

However a black russian in jeans or a suit seems unlikely(no racism intended) .Although Its not a bad cocktail to drink.

Can we have a thread sending our love to everyone who is hurt or killed on the roads please. There must be thousands who deserve the same feelings of empathy.

Nothing new from the police statement other than he's not co-operating at the moment.
