‘They’ are the people who come on forums and sit on fence, take a position peeps, stand for something.. are you one of those people? Why do you do this?

There was a time when I would sit on the fence because I didn’t want to be the antagonist . I felt like I wanted to be liked by fellow forum users . I didn’t want to upset anyone , so sitting on the fence served this purpose well .

That was then , and now I really couldn’t care less , so I don’t sit on the fence at all . If I agree with a post I will say so , and if I don’t I will say why I don’t .

Because they want a fuck from the forum. They don't care who. Just anyone that will notice them. They don't want to upset a potential fuck.

Maybe they see it as friendly banter rather than anything serious, Facebook is full of dramas and shit, this forum is more relaxed where most if they don’t like something just scroll past as they don’t know and probably never will know the poster

I’ll say what I feel if the mood takes me and if it’s something I feel strongly about but that’s it. It’s supposed to be fun so I will stick to the bits I enjoy and ignore the rest, that’s not sitting on the fence, it’s using my common sense and doing what makes me happy. I will never understand why some people get into some of the nonsense that happens on here. Each to their own I suppose.

Is everything black and white/yes and no?

Often things can’t or shouldn’t be presented in binary views, no matter how much fun it might be for forum banter or pot stirring.

Yes...that’s why I sit on the fence sometimes. I reply to a thread because it interests me but sometimes I don’t really have an opinion

Sometimes I sit on the fence, sometimes I get involved, other times, maybe most times I prod some humour that appeals to me, often unnoticed but I don't care.

I mostly view the forum as an online version of bar banter. Mostly dont take it to heart, but occasionally someone asks a deep question, then either help or turn to another topic.
