Drinking and meeting

So in today’s paper it’s reported that a guy met a woman in Hull , and within hours of meeting they were engaging in full on sex , involving some bdsm activity . Pretty normal I hear you say , except that they had a few drinks first and she fell onto a knife , piercing her jugular vein and died - So he said in his defence .

The judge jailed him for six years , saying that although he didn’t mean to stab her , the danger was obvious .

She was 21 , he was 24 .

So no matter what you read on these forums , drinking and meeting people for sex , especially sex with a bdsm theme , is not a good idea .

"Jeeeez. That made me "

Me too , and so many times we read that people like a drink or two to loosen up on a meet .

I’m not one to preach , but stories like this make you wonder how safe it is to have a few drinks before engaging in this type of activity .

I live in an area that’s economically challenged. I see local status’ that read along the lines of ‘Meet now. Bring litre of vodka’ I can only assume it works for them but if you can only do it d*unk you probably shouldn’t be doing it.

Sad story in the OP. Ghastly.

Mixing the two is the issue here , and although I agree with you , there seems to be a culture on here that seems to think it’s fine to drink when meeting for sex .

Sites like this cater for more kinky sex , so there will inevitably be a bit more risky sex , and by that I don’t mean bareback ! Alcohol and risky sex is not a good combination .

The BBC article I read about it said they had been drinking vodka and doing c*ke and he'd held the knife up against her throat and severed her carotid artery and jugular by accident. Kept a knife under his pillow for that kink of his... goodness knows why you'd get involved in something that extreme with someone you'd only met that day .

It’s just one particularly relevant story , and if you visit clubs after midnight you may see the type of behaviour that may change your mind . Maybe not life threatening , but my oh my some seriously dodgy behaviour that borders on consensual to say the least . And invariably alcohol is behind it .

So I really think that the drink drive limit ought to apply to meeting strangers for sex too .

For once I agree with you. I'm very reluctant to go to swingers clubs these days, because I seem to be a magnet for d*unk women forcing themselves on me.

Obviously, I'm capable of saying no, but it just makes me feel akward.

I think it’s about those two individuals & how they chose to meet more than the involvement of alcohol. There’s a possibility this could have happened regardless.

Oops . Yes I would definitely want to be stone cold sober for anything kinky. The amount of men who've said they'd like to tie me up on a first meet is pretty worrying, especially if we were under the influence

I think theres more to this than her falling on a knife !! According to the hull daily mail they had been taking cocaine and drinking loads of vodka. They had already had sex where he str##gled her to the point her friend had to step in and stop him. Then the friend left and they did it again this time with him rubbing the knife across her throat, all very dangerous on a first meet i would say

Hmm yeah I can see how a drink drive system will work for sex with strangers.

A chastity belt for everyone that can only be released with a breath test.

I partake in blade play with select people. But never after alcohol consumption and certainly never with someone I've just met. It takes months of trust to build up before that type of play even gets a mention.

A couple of drinks to calm the nerves is normal. .personally I wouldn't engage in BDSM or knife play on a first meet... you need full on trust for that

It's a sensible idea for some people perhaps but for others it isn't something even worth considering. I will sometimes drink before during and after a meet but I have never once done something I regretted. I remain 100% in control and completely safe.

Tea total here, personally I don't like alcohol under any circumstances, others can do as they please.

Alcohol is very common in this world and I have seen the issues that it can create when ''overdone''

Those that go too far drink wise should really try not to, but that's the problem..they can never see just how bad they have become.

I am always sober whereas the mrs does drink a few, I always judge her and others state, if any of them have become what I would say is d*unk, we stop.

I have had one issue with Mrs caramel which led to an unpleasant situation/argument at a club. She was told either we leave or I will be alone, thankfully we left together.

We agreed from that moment on, I call the shoots when alcohol is concerned or this ends now.

Alcohol must have caused many difficulties here amongst the swinging world with couples and others that go unseen or heard.

Control is very important for those that have a tendency to go beyond their limit.

Gut instinct, his sentence will be reduced on appeal, he does however deserve a punishment, he killed!

I think you’ll find that individuals who set their own limits may not be in a position to choose who (and how) they have sex with , depending on how much they have had .

Anyone who has chosen to drink more than they should have , can’t give consent . And that’s a fact , so there could well be repercussions on both sides in the aftermath .

So by all means , do what the fuck you want , but don’t go whining when it all goes tits up afterwards .

I read an article about this too... Tragic. Just 24 years old and his life is now ruined, for what? Some kinky game that went horribly wrong?

I just can't help thinking the accessibility of hardcore poronography is bending the minds and expectations of younger generations. They seem in such a hurry to do or try everything, too often fuelled with alcohol and drugs... Slow down... Just slow down.

You can’t generalise. No two man is the same. It isn’t up to me, you or anyone else to tell someone how much they should drink. As long as they aren’t causing harm to anyone else. As for sex it’s up for the two or more people involved, if they’d like to indulge or not. To each their own.

As for having sex with someone without consent, that’s a complete different matter. R*pe in any shape or form should never happen, whether alcohol is involved or not

For the purpose of the thread , I suggested that alcohol and sex with strangers is not a good idea .

You’ll recall that ther thread was about an accident with a knife ? So to suggest as long as no one is harmed is not really relevant is it ?

All I’m saying is that drinking too much and engaging in risky sex with strangers is a disaster waiting to happen .

And you’re right , I can’t tell anyone how much to drink and nor can anyone else . It’s a shame there are people who don’t have the self awareness not to drink too much though isn’t it ?
