"I'm a pleb, I love the rhubarb and ginger gin liqueur, and the flavour is so full you can mix it with any old tonic lol. But my favourite straight gin is Silent Pool, and the delicate flavours in that definitely need something more refined like Fevertree tonic. I don't like the flavoured tonics at all. I'm keen to try the Italian lemon gin though - that sounds great." Silent pool is lovely and the bottle is pretty too.

"Monkey 47 is a fantastic gin, 40 botanicals apparently. It's my favourite atm but it is pricey. Other nice (non flavoured ones) are Silent Pool and Hendricks mixed with the Mediterranean fever tree and a slice of grapefruit or a few strawberries.....lovely " I've heard good things of monkey 47... but it is expensive Can I come up and drink yours? Haha

"There are some lovely flavoured ones not yet mentioned- several Raspberry ones (Foxdenton in particular) and pink grapefruit one from Italy called Malfy But agree, can do nice things with mixers. I keep a bottle of cheaper gin in the freezer and then add it to the flavoured San Pellegreno's (Grapefruit in particular) ." Oooh that's sounds interesting!

"Ooo i saw a pink gin at the checkout today and was tempted, but alas the last time i had gin i had my head in a toilet all of the next day and the flashback of that put me off! " You need to mix it with the right things so that doesn't happen. Mix it..with us?

"I'm glad that I brought this subject to the forum. There seems to be a huge Gin drinking contingent on here. Really enjoying your views. " In my experience (order picker for a cash and carry ), gin is now right up there with vodka as the fastest mover. The fact that many are above the 37% content of vodka helps too. Bigger range of flavours means something for everyone. I like boe's violet stuff
