I’m sorry to hear what you’re going through. I’ve lost both parents to cancer, so know how difficult it is.

Happy to chat.

MacMillan have a good online site too with lots of info.

Sorry to hear that.

Waiting for test results for my dad.

Cancer sucks, just be there when they want you to be and make most of the time you have together.

My Ice Castle! South Wales

So sorry to read this.

We had my Uncles funeral today after he battled a tumour on his liver and then sepsis.

There aren't any words that canake it better but at the same talking does help.

There are loads of organisations that can provide emotional support to the family. Macmillan nurses are fantastic too and can also help put you in contact with people to give you support.

(((Hugs)))

You have to let people deal with it in their own way. My Mum was like that when my Dad was ill. If the MacMillan or District Nurses are coming in, maybe have a chat to them. They’re usually good to talk to and very helpful.

I'm sorry to read about your father, and your mother trying to cope with it all. You're finding it hard not to have help/someone to talk to about it so just ask.

See if you can get a MacMillan buddy. They might be able to persuade your mother to accept help.

I'm so sorry to read this. I lost my own dad to cancer 12 years ago next weekend, and I remember it like it was yesterday.

If you need to talk, feel free to drop me a PM anytime. I'm not always on here but when I am I'll be more than happy to reply to you. Best advice I can give you right now though is to make sure that he knows you're there and that you love him.

There is very little you can actually 'do' that's part of it- the powerlessness.

I lost my Dad in November to pancreatic cancer and it's a horrible way to go.

The only thing you can do is spend whatever time you have as best you can with them.

And remember your mum is just coping the best way she knows how, try to be kind to one another. You are all running on heightened emotions at this time.

Practical help for you might include talking therapy- Macmillan or Mind could offer good, (free) help.

Sending platonic hugs x

So sorry for you, it's like a grieving process before their gone. Then it will really hit you and family. Stay strong, don't miss an opportunity to say I love you before you can't even if you have to say it even time you visit. It's going to be hard but you will get through it with support and good friends. Bless you and your dad. x x

Absolutely Dap, find the courage from somewhere and do it.

I did it for something very different years ago and the help was phenomenal .. I still don't regret it.

Do it, and you can always pm me, you know that x

I lost my dad just over two years ago to lung cancer, I still can't get my head around it or how two years has passed already. He was far too young to die and there's so much that was left unfinished and things we didn't get to do together. I was with him when he died, me, my mum and his sister all holding him, that night still doesn't feel real but at least he went very peacefully. I can't really offer any advice as I don't think I'm dealing with it well myself, all I can say is be kind to yourself afterwards and let yourself feel whatever comes afterwards rather than bottle it up. Sorry that you're going through this, losing a loved parent is heart wrenching

I feel for you OP. I lost my mother just weeks ago and ...it's a hard road you're on. Try to be strong and take care of YOU too. Sometimes talking to a stranger who is not emotionally invested in your family helps as friends and family are too close to the whole situation. Use ALL the help you can find. You're not alone. x

I’m so very sorry for your loss. The milestone that you mentioned is one that you should be very proud of and take comfort in the knowledge that he will also have been proud of you.

The grieving process is a long and complicated one and it doesn’t go away, but if you need a bit of support reach out to those around you.
