I've been mulling over how I feel since I came back on fab.

It's been almost a year since I was last on and things have changed somewhat.

Have you had a break from Fab and found it different from what you remembered?

Have certain people left who you wish were still here?

Do you find it hard to get back into the swing of it again?

I left for 7 months and when i came back all new people had taken over. Still no clue as to who they are.

I had 3/4 years away

Most have left , some are still here but it remains essentially the same

I also left for 7 months and returned in march

Even in that short time I'd noticed there were a few more eejits than before but mostly the same old faces were still hanging about..

Exactly this, Took a whole year out and since being back it’s only in very short spurts ( there’s a pun in there somewhere ) people you had banter with, people you could just chat shite all night long with gone. But also the opportunity to try and break through again

It’s good and bad feeling the alíen newb again.

That's how I feel, the addition of new people has given it a slightly new dynamic plus there's some people I miss for their posts.

Yes, I did find it a bit weird at first. Especially the forums because some of the old guard had left etc and there were new in jokes and new posters and dramas etc. But after the first couple of days it was like I didn't really leave.

I have been away for maybe 2 years (due to illness and life crap) and came back 4 weeks ago.

Some good friends are not on here any longer but because they are friends kept in touch away from Fabs. Having said that some I used to natter with all the time are still here and its like I never left. Found a few new chatterboxes who seem to share my daft SOH... strange people!

I miss the banter with people who actually enjoy a good natter (yes I love the chatrooms!) and I see the cam brigade are increasingly taking over which is a shame.

The downside for you lot is I will be spending more time in the Forum ..

I was away for ages and then came back. I’m the gap I was swinging in clubs etc and socialising with people face to face. This is a vast world away from that. It is so different in any online environment than in the physical world but particularly one like this where a very niche interest group is also of interest to loads of people who aren’t actually interested in that lifestyle at all.

I’ve met a couple of really nice people on here but I really don’t tend to use it seriously for instigating meets as it’s just become a bit of an odd game for many people.

As a confirmed Fab boomerang I don’t spend time wistfully remembering how it used to be. Just get stuck in to whatever is going down now. Too many threads romanticise Fab forum regulars past. They left. They probably don’t want to be discussed in a public forum.

However old forum thread revivals have my vote. Some bloody hilarious stuff.

I've noticed quite a lot of old threads popping up lately. Looked at the OP and it's from over a year ago. They should do that more, as you said, the funnier ones
